IN A NUTSHELL

At Bellroy, we pour our heart, soul and many design hours into helping people move through the world. As we continue to deepen our reach across the globe, we need a mid-weight graphic designer to help define what that looks like – literally. Someone who can make sure the Bellroy brand is shining brightly (and cohesively) across our digital channels – in advertising, on Amazon and through own online store. As a graphic designer for Bellroy, you’d work with our in-house creative team and report to our Creative Director. You’ll generate visuals that push our content into new spaces and under new eyeballs, while ensuring they are on brand, and in line with the creative brief.

If you bring your fine-tuned eye, your conceptual brain and your desire to learn, we’ll offer a world-class team to bounce ideas off, the tools needed to do your thing and the support to help you flourish.

IT TAKES A SPECIAL KIND OF PERSON

Sure, aesthetics are important and obsessing over the most beautiful of details gets you giddy. But above that, you’re a communicator who loves to think big and take people on a visual journey. Always seeking an insight that will help your viewer take the desired action, you don’t mind geeking out on psychology and how good design can shape human behaviour.

A curious thinker with a can-do attitude, you’re always willing to find the right solution using a finely tuned balance of intuition and logic, exploration and execution. Solving problems in a conceptual way, that also makes sense for the world, the brand and the context. Like a chef who fuses flavours while making sure the menu works as one (because no one wants to eat spaghetti bolognese in a Thai restaurant).

You’re keen to grow and learn. Using previous campaigns and the experience of our marketing, sales and data teams to build your understanding of what works well and why – whether it’s how a recent ad you created performed or which homepage banner received the most clicks. We’re big on growth mindset here too, so you’ll fit right in.

IF YOU WERE HERE LAST WEEK, HERE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS YOU MIGHT HAVE DONE

  • Brainstormed some new advertising concepts with our Ad Manager and Copywriter, that push on different audience motivations and glean insights from past creative performance
  • Taken assets for an upcoming campaign and translated them onto a homepage takeover and collection page that’s seen by millions of eyeballs each month
  • Worked with our UX Team to take insights from a recent A/B test on bellroy.com and apply that learning to our Amazon storefront
  • Collaborated with our Creative Producer and Storyteller to bring our next Brand Guide or Sustainability Report to life
  • Sat in a Design Geeks meeting to workshop a refreshed brand look and feel – from pitching a new typeface or sharing a recent campaign you found inspiring
  • Helped bring a Buying Guide to life on bellroy.com, creating a series of bite-size info including infographics and technical illustrations
  • Experimented with a new piece of software or AI technology in a Friday ‘Afternoon Delight’ session

THERE ARE SOME QUALITIES YOU MUST POSSESS...

  • 3+ years professional in-house or agency experience
  • Belief in the power of a great idea and the impact design can have on the senses
  • Ninja-level skills in Adobe – Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Video editing skills are a bonus
  • Strong time management skills and ability to take projects from brief to completion
  • Experience working for customer-led retail brands in the past is a bonus
  • An open mind, lots of curiosity and the willingness to problem solve
